Genetic Counselling

At IFM, we provide genetic counselling. This is a counselling process which helps the would-be parents to understand how genes work in building up various medical conditions in a baby, including specific congenital disabilities. There are several congenital disabilities and medical conditions that are running in your family due to the genetic effects. These medical conditions will be passed to the next generation due to the inborn connection with the family.

In case, your family history has specific health issues, or you have the risks of passing serious illness to your fetus due to genetic disorders, then it is better to ask for genetic counselling before you start your pregnancy planning. The counselling can be done once you become pregnant too. The experts will analyse your genetic conditions and find out the risks of congenital disabilities in your fetus.

Some common genetic conditions in India are Thalassemia, Sickle cell Disease, DMD, Huntington’s disease , Cystic Fibrosis , Spinal Muscular Atrophy , Inborn errors of metabolism, etc .

We have specially trained experts for this. Our institute has advanced procedures to examine genetic conditions.

I recently visited IFM. Behaviour of all staff members towards the patient and there family members was very polite,they were very cooperative.Booking process was so smooth via whatsapp.Reports send via WhatsApp.Dr Ghosh is very polite, listen everything,read all previous reports and then answer everything clearly and positively.Need this kind of service at Asansol too,need an IFM Branch 😊

We recently visited the IFM center for my wife's Fetal Anatomyscan and quadruple test, and we are completely satisfied with their service.My wife had some complications early in her pregnancy. The booking process was handled smoothly via telephonic/whatsApp. The staff listened carefully to our concerns and promptly scheduled our visit.On the day of the appointment, all services were excellent and met our expectations. Dr. Kamal Oswal conducted the USG exam, there after Dr. Kusagradhi Ghosh reviewed all past reports and listened to us attentively. We are grateful for their advices. Additionally, I would like to thank Dr. Daljit Kaur and her entire operational team, they were very helpful and ensured that our consultation and other services were satisfactory.They sent our test report on WhatsApp within the predetermined time.Overall, the IFM center provided us with a reassuring and positive experience during a challenging time in my wife's pregnancy.
